Timothy Foley, L.Ac
I graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2008. While in my last year of study, I traveled to China and the Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Huang Zhou, where I observed community style acupuncture as the standard way of treating patients. After starting my private practice I believed that community style acupuncture could work in Ithaca and I am now very excited to offer it’s benefits to the people of the Finger Lakes region.
I’m is also a musician, having sang and played the guitar in numerous bands. I was born in Chestnut Ridge, NY. I attended college and received a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in Missoula in 2000.
Coleen Foley, L.Ac
I graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at NYCC in 2008. My husband, Timothy Foley and I established a private practice for two and a half years in Cayuga Heights after passing our board exams. In 2008 I volunteered as an acupuncturist at the Ithaca Free Clinic. I realized there were a lot of community members that do not have access to consistent and accessible acupuncture treatments and I knew in my heart that the Community Acupuncture model would be a great fit for Ithaca!
I grew up in New York, on Long island and attended Hofstra University receiving my B.S. in Geology in 2001. For four years I worked as a project geologist with Parsons Brinkerhoff in Midtown Manhattan providing data for major infrastructure projects in NYC and the surrounding counties.
I also have a passion for supporting local business and uniting people for great common causes! In 2018 I started a Facebook group, Ithaca is Local Business, because I realized how overwhelming owning a small business can be and how important support among us is!
When I’m not doing acupuncture I love to spend lots of time with my husband, Tim, our two children, Brennan and Arlo and the family dog, Nelson. I also enjoy teaching myself photography and cooking lots of Indian food!
